CONFIDENCE REQUIRES MORE THAN A LIST OF HERBS

You do not need another random remedy. You need a way to make sound decisions.

Real herbal confidence does not come from collecting more information. It comes from knowing how to think through four essential questions.

Which plant(s)?

Learn to choose herbs that fit the person, the purpose, and the situation. Recognize potential herb-drug, herb-herb, and condition-specific interactions. The most popular recommendation is not always the right one.

Which preparation?

Tea, infusion, decoction, tincture, glycerite, and topical preparations do different jobs. Learn how preparation, strength, dosage, and frequency shape how an herb is used.

What's the plan?

Herbs are one part of the plan. Diet, movement, rest, and other supportive practices should work together and fit what the body needs at each stage of healing.

When is home care not enough?

Responsible herbal practice includes recognizing when professional medical evaluation is the right next step.

This is the difference between trying herbs and building herbal skills you can trust.

THE CALYPSO HEALING METHOD®

How the CALYPSO Healing Method® teaches whole-person herbalism.

I created the CALYPSO Healing Method® to bring clinical practice, emotional wellness, and ancestral healing tradition together.

Emotional wellness recognizes the body’s lived experience.

Ancestral healing tradition honors relationship, culture, spirit, and lineage.

My teaching is rooted in African American herbal tradition and welcomes anyone who wants to build a more thoughtful, responsible relationship with plant medicine.

You are not here to memorize every plant. You are here to develop discernment, deepen your relationship with yourself through plants, and cultivate a healing practice.

“Over time, I realized there is so much more to medicine. It is not just giving someone a prescription. It is really understanding the mind-body connection. That is something that attracted me to this course. I use what I am learning in my practice, and I love it. I am eager to learn, just as much as anyone else.”

“I have taken a couple herbal classes before, so I already have the basics down, but this class has already taken my understanding to another level. The way Selima teaches using a perfect balance of the spiritual side of herbalism and the science side makes both sides of my brain so excited for each lesson! If you’re looking into an herbal class, this one is a GREAT class!”

MEET YOUR TEACHER

Meet Selima: clinical herbalism, ancestral wisdom, and teaching that meets you where you are.

Iwilla Remedy is named for my middle name, Iwilla. Pronounced eye-WILL-uh. It means “I will rise.” My mother drew it from the words "I will arise," and carried that declaration into my name. The company was never an abstract wellness name. It is family history, and a story of turning, rising, and coming home to yourself.

Over the years, I have taught more than 6,000 students, from complete beginners to wellness and medical professionals, how to work with plant medicine confidently, clearly, and with integrity.

I started Iwilla Remedy because I know what it feels like to carry emotional pain in my body without knowing how to release it, to search for relief, for purpose, and for a way forward that truly feels like healing. That search led me to herbal medicine, and it changed everything.

Whether you are here to learn, to heal, or to deepen your connection to ancestral wisdom, there is a place for you here.
