Who Is Selima Iwilla Harleston Lust?
Selima Iwilla Harleston Lust is a clinical herbalist, spiritual teacher, and the founder of Iwilla Remedy. She created the first and only African American Herbalism course at Spelman College, bringing this vital cultural lineage into academic study for the first time. She also serves as a Lead Herbalist Educator at Herbal Academy, helping shape the next generation of herbalists.
Iwilla Remedy is named after Selima's middle name, Iwilla, because this work is not separate from who she is. It is an extension of her healing, her calling, and her life's work.
Over the years, Selima has taught thousands of students, from complete beginners to wellness professionals, how to work with plant medicine confidently, clearly, and with integrity.
She started Iwilla Remedy because she knows what it feels like to carry emotional pain in your body without knowing how to release it -- to search for relief, for purpose, and for a way forward that truly feels like healing. That search led her to herbal medicine, and it changed everything.
Whether you are here to learn, to heal, or to deepen your connection to ancestral wisdom, there is a place for you here.
With joy, Selima
